Remember that we were slaves in Egypt…

“…we were set free from Egypt
that we might release our pain
by reaching with an outstretched arm
to all who struggle for freedom.”

JVL wishes all our supporters and readers
a zissen pesach — a sweet passover!
Chag sameach pesach

We post here an invitation to support the British Shalom Salaam Trust by attending our joint fourth annual Liberation Seder

Saturday 8 April at 7pm UK time by Zoom

Register at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/liberation-seder-2023-tickets-594060459827

Registration closes at 7p.m. Friday

As well as speakers from Britain we will have contributions from Palestinians and Jews, from Gaza, the West Bank and Israel.

We are producing a special Haggadah, the prayer book we use in a Seder, and there will be music and stories as well.

We will be remembering our great friend Annabelle Sreberny who worked so hard to make our previous Seders so joyous and successful and who died earlier this year.

Please share this invitation with all your friends, Jewish and not, so they can celebrate with us.

When we were kids at home, (a very long time ago) this was one of our favourite times of year. Our Jewish neighbours would always send us in, a large box of what we believed were giant Jacobs creme crackers – Matza, on which we used to spread jam and marge, could not afford butter in those days :-).

Thank you for this online Seder which I and my late husband have both enjoyed in the past with JVL. It is now our job to campaign for the liberation of the Palestinian people from their lives of apartheid torment and violence.
