UK Wholesale Gas prices are 40% lower today that their peak in March.
UK Retail Gas prices, we are told, will rise 200%.
This must be called what it is. Corporate Theft.

France has just frozen gas prices for 365 days of 2022.
England says its gas prices will go up 200% for families.

Rishi Sunak, with a reported wealth of over £730ml, told us it was the “right plan” to cut universal credit & raise workers taxes; and “silly” to help with energy costs. At the same time he gave £7.3bl of tax cuts to his banker mates.
The wrong people seek power.

Private water utilities have piled up £56bn of debt; asset stripped out £72bn in dividends for shareholders; increased your bills by 40% and failed to invest in infrastructure.
Ofwat, the regulator, has allowed all this to happen. Nationalise water.

Instead of an energy price cap, how about an energy profit cap?
Renationalise Now.

In Germany, to encourage road users to use public transport amid growing fuel costs, you now get unlimited travel on regional public transport for €9.
Of course that’s possible because Germany has state owned rail, buses, trams and ferries.

Rishi Sunak is on the Rich List with his household’s £730 million fortune.
A 3% tax on his wealth over £10m would recoup £22 million for the taxpayer. That would lift 22,000 families out of poverty.
Sunak opposes Wealth Taxes.

Real Wages, after inflation, are lower today than 15 years ago.
During that time, wealth has grown by £7 trillion.
Billionaires have surged by 512%.
Wealth does not trickle down.

Jeremy Corbyn’s wage policy would have meant the wages of CEOs of companies bidding for public work would be capped at a maximum of 20 times the wage of their lowest paid worker. If they wanted more then pay workers more.
We need that policy now.

125 A&Es closed under the Tories.
A purpose built health crisis deliberately designed to destroy the NHS.
— Howard Beckett (@BeckettUnite) August 8, 2022
Private water utilities were responsible for almost 3.2 billion litres of water being lost every single day in 2020-21. At the same time these wasteful polluters paid executives £27ml pa in bonuses & packages totally £48ml.
Ofwat, the regulator allowed this. Nationalise water.
— Howard Beckett (@BeckettUnite) August 9, 2022
When are the mainstream press going to admit that Jeremy Corbyn’s energy policies would have completely ended all forms of fuel poverty & lowered energy bills by £3,000?
— Howard Beckett (@BeckettUnite) August 10, 2022
Energy bills to hit & pass £4,200 by January. Over 8ml households (1 in 3) to be living in fuel poverty.
No more windfall taxes, people can’t pay. Nationalise energy now.

UK Water Corps are leaking 876 billion litres of water a year through their own failure.
And they bill you for it. Theft.
— Howard Beckett (@BeckettUnite) August 8, 2022
Over the last 10 years over £96bn of taxpayer money has gone to private health companies- mainly for planned operations & scans. Money that should have gone to the NHS.

To stop prices surging high we must slow soaring profits.
It. Really. Is. As. Simple. As. That.

Scottish Water is proof nationalisation of water works.
English Water is proof privatisation of water does not work.

• France: Energy to be 100% owned by the people & price rises of 4%
• England: Energy to be 0.00% owned by the people & price rises of 200%
Conclusion?

Almost 7 in 10 adults in the UK, and 5 in 10 children, have no access to NHS dental care. This is their intention for all NHS care.
Take profit out of care. Nationalise the NHS.

Brilliant tweets.
Howard Beckett has given facts, figures & the consequences of privitisation & shareholders rewards.
The NHS is mostly privitised! Ask Jeremy Hunt he & his family have made millions in private Health care.
I remember how the Middlesex Hospital & its surrounding clinics & buildings were being sold off quietly when I was working there & HE was the Health Minister.
Howard has outlined the the Tories greed & sell offs of social services. Its down to a minimum.
Hospitals, A&Es, Fire stations, Police, Mental Health, Care Homes, railways,Waterworks etc etc all reduced services yet shares gone up each year, despite the sewage in all British rivers!
We once had an opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn plus an economist John McDonnell & together they had some amazing policies, fantastic ideas which were workable even other economists agreed they were solid.
Now we still have a deporable government but we no longer have an opposition but a STARMER who lies on his back offering his stomach to be tickled by the Tories & a pat on the back from Israel & Blair!
We need the Howard Becketts!
We need the Mike Lynch’s & Sharon leader of Unite & the other Union leaders because we Don’t have a Labour Leader.
Agreed with all the tweets except for the last one. I can think of a lot more I’d say to Sir Starmer and most of it in language not normally used in front of the children!
Excellent, energising stuff !
Don’t vote for right-wing Labour MPs !
That’s only way they’ve left us to de-select them.
I have long thought that Beckett (or someone like him – Mick Lynch, anyone?) MUST be the next leader of the Labour party if it is to have any meaning or any future at all.
Go Howard!
