Christmas is cancelled in Palestine

Husam Zomlot, head of the Palestine Mission to the UK, has sent a Xmas message “to the British people and freedom-loving people everywhere”.
X, formerly known as Twitter, has chosen to to give it a health warning as containing “potentially sensitive content”.

Keep the faith, never give in, go down fighting the good fight
The whole situation is deeply disturbing, yet there is always hope and faith for a future. The cost of this terrible situation is immeasurable for a suffering people but , perhaps, this could be a turning point as the status quo is now recognised by most of the world as simply not tenable. Now in my eighties, for the very first time, I feel ashamed to be British in the wake of our government’s and opposition’s early response to this crisis. The USA , UK, and EU should hang their heads in shame. They had the power to prevent both what happened inside the Israeli border, and consequently in Gaza, by a responsible attitude and action, over decades, to issues of justice for the Palestinian people, and consequently also for the Israeli people . Crimes against humanity should be called out, whoever commits them, irrespective of personal, political and governmental preferable alignment. Our Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition should feel ashamed. “Israel has the right to defend itself” is not the end of the discussion, but the beginning. “HOW” is in itself a deeply moral issue.
Thank you for this statement, and my heart goes out to those innocent people who are are being treated as less than worthless ,with such magnitude and ferocity , by the Israeli government and the IDF. As a Christian I must say that Hammas was clearly wrong in what it did, but the Israeli response takes the concept of ‘wrong’ to a level beyond thinking.
There has been plenty of evidence that Israel Lied about what happened when Hamas attacked part of Israel, the raping, the mutilation of babies, the firing of grenades into houses in the Kibbutz and the murdering of hundreds of Festival goers. Videos have shown that the Festival goers were mowed down by an Israeli Helicopter Squadron and an Israeli Tank was firing into the houses in the Kibbutz. Hamas’ aim was to capture as many hostages as possible to use as a bargaining lever to get Palestinians released from prison, many are children and haven’t been charged but just held in prison. It’s worth reading this article by Aljazeera, it details what Israel has been doing for decades, imprisoning many innocent Palestinians, including women and many children.
