You have until 5pm today to vote Grassroots5 for Labour’s NEC!

A “Thank You” message from Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi

At 5 pm today, Tuesday August 30, ballots close in the 2022 elections for positions on the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee, among them nine seats for representatives of ordinary members in the constituencies.

If you read this before 5pm and have not yet cast your vote for me, Gemma Bolton, Yasmine Dar, Mish Rahman and Jess Barnard, use this postcode finder.

Check here if you need help finding your ballot form.

It’s not clear when the results will be announced.

Whatever the outcome, huge thanks are due to every one of the 13 organisations that have worked together for many exhausting weeks in an exemplary show of unity, promoting me and the other Grassroots5 candidates. We put differences aside and focused on the big picture – rallying maximum votes for CLP reps who can be relied upon to speak out for socialist policies and members’ democracy.

I also want to thank the individual socialist campaigners who put their weight and their names behind the campaign. See below for a full list.

Whether or not all five of us get elected, given the critical state of politics in this country, we now have a responsibility to continue working together in the fight for a better future. Enough is Enough, and the burgeoning grassroots campaigns over the cost of living, food, energy and housing, health and the environment, equality, human rights and justice for refugees, show that we have many potential allies within and outside the party who deserve our solidarity and support.

Another world is possible!
