Now even the BBC is seeing through Israel’s lies – a compilation

Michael Walker is on fine form as he takes apart Israeli hasbara, showing a section of BBC’s critical reportage and, in conversation with Kieran Andrieu, extending the lessons we can draw from it.

Owen Jones is less restrained and says simply, with evidence to back it up, that “Israel’s rulers lie, lie, lie and lie again”

By way of illustration, we have the Israel Foreign Minister saying a few days ago, without a trace of irony, that “Israel is working according to international law”.

Danny Cohen, director of BBC Television 2013-15, says the BBC is biased and singles out diplomatic correspondent Caroline Hawley whose social media presence “reads like a series of press releases from Hamas central command”.

Just in case you think he might have gone a bit overboard, Jewish Chronicle editor Jake Wallis Simons adds his own ghoulish humour to top it all: Jeremy Bowen and others who question the IDF’s claims are expressing the antisemitic trope that “Jews can’t be trusted”!

Cheer yourself up while a group of Israeli children sing The Friendship Song 2023 – calling for the extermination of all in Gaza.

And finally, to round out this compilation, we conclude with the incredibly moving and dignified contribution by Palestine’s UN Rep Nada Abu Tarbushv at a meeting of the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention on 17 Nov 2023, exposing the lies and duplicities of the Israeli argument.

Danny Cohen, who was director of BBC Television between 2013-15, claimed the Jewish community in this country is “being harmed through its unbalanced reporting” since the Hamas terrorist atrocities.

Cohen singled out Caroline Hawley, the BBC’s diplomatic correspondent, for particular criticism saying her own social media platform was “biased, unbalanced” and “reads like a series of press releases from Hamas central command”.

A  note on YouTube explains: On 19 November 2023, Israel’s national broadcaster Kan uploaded this song to X (formerly Twitter) in which Israeli children sing in celebration and support for the Israeli army’s mass extermination campaign of Palestinians in Gaza. Kan also posted it on its website and then removed it. The Electronic Intifada translated the lyrics and added subtitles for news reporting purposes.
