JVL Fringe meeting at Labour Party Conference

Jewish Voice for Labour’s Fringe meeting takes place on Monday evening in the midst of the Labour Party Conference. Our speakers will be addressing the hierarchy of racism, as highlighted in the Forde Report.  Dr. Maryam Jameela will provide a context for Islamophobia in our society and the Labour Party.  JVL’s own Naomi Wimborne Idrissi, newly elected by democractic vote to Labour’s governing body (the NEC) and even more recently suspended from the Party will provide JVL’s perspective.  Is this the wrong sort of Party (for “the wrong sort of Jews”)? And what is the future for our movement?  Workers on strike, enormous rallies behind “Enough Is Enough” and a Tory government that makes Thatcher looks almost benign.  A strong left wing movement is needed now more than ever; what is it going to take?

The meeting will be live streamed: here

Excellent, JVL! The hierarchy of racism now existing within the morally corrupt Labour Party has Zionists, Israel supporters and Conservatives at the very top of its concern, but BAME people basically ignored, unless they step out of line, and Socialist British Jewish Party Members now singled out for persecution. This is presently the racism policy of the hypocritical Labour Party.

I would so love to be with you.
I was a delegate from Labour International in Brighton in 2017 and it was such a wonderful, uplifting inspiring experience. One of the highlights was talking to Naomi after her wonderful speech about Palestine. and her standing ovation.
Another was listening to Naomi Klein speaking, telling how all over the world people were waiting to see if it was possible to change a country by radicalising and motivating an existing centre-left political party. Sadly now we know the answer is NO.. So we must find another way and you in JVL are always there, in the vanguard, looking for the way forward.
Solidarid, comrades , from Spain. Adelante, No pasaran!

Last night I watched the Labour Party ‘leadership’ open the Conference singing God Save the King. It was awful and embarrassing. It was an attempt to prove that Labour is ‘patriotic’. It failed miserably. They will say and do anything to get elected. No honesty. No Trust.

I stand with all at JVL… I’m not religious at all but standing up for the OPPRESSED must be everyone’s religion & to remove & shame the OPPRESSOR is essential.
Solidarity is important because justice & humanity are urgently needed.
